On this other example you can see how the email is just not right. Now you may ask your self “How do you know is not right, it look fine to me” My answer to you is, most of the companies and contacts use their name, company name, or an email like news, info, donotreply, support, etc something that is use often by legit companies. The email here is Pate (ok lets assume someone can be called Pate, but I don’t think the last name is “wpifi” Now check the rest of the email @smilingtoes.info if you look at the picture the company should be called SimplyInk but the email address is from (lets separate it) Smiling Toes. Do you see now how the email even that it looks real doesn’t make sense?
2. Most of the spam always have a link that says CLICK HERE, that should be another clue you need to look on spam. Sometimes they come too simple and empty to be real like the following example. Looks legit ah! I will let you check this one for a second. Yea is a spam. Did you see what I higlighted, that is where the link is going to take you if you click it. Now how I was able to do that? If you are using Microsoft Outlook all you have to do is point (NOT CLICK) just hover your mouse on top of the link and it will reveal the evil behind it. Why is this important, because sometimes you get so upset of many spams that you just want them to stop and of course they give you an option to unscubscribe if you want. If you click on the CLICK HERE to unusbscribe or any link inside the email you know you will be calling me to fix your computer of a virus.
I wish I could have save an email I got from FedEx (yes fedex, but not the real one) that will say that they cannot deliver my pacakge because they have my wrong address, and I needed to click on the link to update my address for them. Well by me hovering or having my mouse on top of the link (again NO CLICK) I noticed the address was something like http://xjv.idhnc.edi/fedex.zip when I saw that ZIP file on the link and obviously the gibrish address I immediately knew it wasn’t legit.
